Introduction: The correct selection of the installation point for the zirconia oxygen probe is crucial for improving measurement accuracy and extending the service life of the zirconia oxygen probe. An unreasonable choice of installation point will directly lead to oxygen content distortion and slow response, and will also greatly shorten the service life of the zirconia oxygen probe, which is counterproductive.

So, how should we choose the installation point of the zirconia oxygen analyzer probe? To this end, the technical engineers of Anhui Tianfen Instruments explained that "choosing the installation point of the zirconia oxygen analyzer probe is crucial for the proper use of the oxygen analyzer. We recommend that all users strictly follow the following precautions and install the zirconia oxygen analyzer correctly:"

  1. Grasp the installation environment temperature

Generally, higher temperatures will cause more serious oxidation and corrosion of the components of the zirconia oxygen probe, which will seriously affect the service life of the oxygen probe. When the temperature is too low, condensed water vapor and SO3 and SO2 in the flue gas form sulfurous acid and sulfuric acid, which will seriously damage the zirconia element. To this end, the technical engineers of Tianfen Instruments explained that the detection point of the zirconia oxygen analyzer should be selected as much as possible within the temperature range of 100-600℃.

  2. Install in an environment with good flue gas flow

The flue gas flow at the installation point of the zirconia oxygen analyzer needs to be good to ensure a faster response time. Never install the zirconia oxygen analyzer inside the furnace, in dead corners, in vortexes, or in constrictions. Installation in inner sides and dead corners can easily cause slow response; installation in vortexes will lead to large oxygen fluctuations and poor representativeness; installation in constrictions will cause excessive gas speed, which, although resulting in a rapid response, can easily cause ash blockage and scouring failures.

  3. It needs to be easy to operate and ensure that there are no obstacles affecting the insertion of the zirconia oxygen analyzer probe.

  4. The upstream 5 meters of the installation point must be free of manholes and obvious leaks to prevent oxygen content distortion. During furnace shutdown, the installation point should not be affected by water flushing operations and should not be easily damaged by human factors.

  5. Avoid being impacted by flames.

  6. The installation methods of the zirconia probe can be divided into: vertical downward or horizontal installation. In the case of horizontal installation, the horizontal angle is generally greater than 20 degrees (i.e., the zirconia probe is inclined downward by about 20 degrees inside the flue), preventing water vapor from remaining in the probe.

  7. Real-time understanding of technical parameters such as the sulfur content and flow rate of the flue gas plays a crucial role in the maintenance and service life of the zirconia probe of the zirconia oxygen analyzer.

Zirconia Oxygen Analyzer: Real-time monitoring of oxygen content in flue gas

The zirconia oxygen analyzer is a new type of oxygen meter developed in recent decades. Due to its simple structure, easy maintenance, fast response speed, and wide measurement range, it is widely used in power, metallurgy, heating, building materials, electronics, and other sectors to analyze the oxygen content of flue gas in various industrial boilers and kilns, improve combustion efficiency, save energy, and reduce environmental pollution.
